Messages from Devon- Update

Messages from Devon
Here is a detail from one of the Flags created for Messages from Devon.
A sewn Devon Landscape, work in progress

The International Women's Arts Program is working in partnership with The Double Elephant Print Workshop to create a new piece of work commissioned by The Devon Records Office. The Project Title is Message form Devon. We are creating a series of flags with printed drawings from Devon overlaid with sewn or painted messages about what it is that makes Devon such a great place to live.
We ran a fab workshop at the International Woman's Day event at the Exeter Phoenix, worked with a youth group in Newton St Cyres who created some great work, WEA learners and Rejuvenation have all really enjoyed being a part of the project.
We are also very pleased to be a part of The Devon Grapevine Meet and Greet Day at St Sidwells on April 30th.
Some of the work will be exhibited here.

The flags will be exhibited as a part of the Exeter Respect festival in June and at the Devon Records Office as well as a touring exhibition throughout the summer. They will then be archived with the Devon Records Office to become a historical record of live in Devon Today.
We are also archiving what it is about Devon you want to say to add to this exciting and interesting research. The work will come from visual and narrative messages.
If you would like to be a part of it tell us your 'Message from Devon'
