This is a dedication to the Artist Bridget Malone, who recently left this earth to fly around the universe and continue to work on making mischief and magic!
Bridget and I graduated from Exeter School
of Art 2002 in Fine Art/ Contextetual Practice, which meant we
got our degree for being creative and having ideas ( we had many !)
At
art college we collaborated together and became art activists and created a
series of Tea Parties, we would sit for hours and discuss ideas of how we would
change the world and make a more colourful place.
MAKE TEA NOT WAR says the post card and - BIG LOVE is written on a tea cloth from Bridget on my kitchen wall.
We believed in Peace and Love as our
foundation for everything and in creating senseless acts of beauty and
practicing kindness and giving.
Anne
Frank once said:
‘Give whatever you have to give, you can
always give something even if its a Simple act of kindness, people who give
will never be poor’.
Bridget gave us so much.
Through her Art Bridget paid homage to ‘The workers’.
She
made art which saluted the Honiton Lace makers, who often lost their sight to
make lace for the rich, and to the cleaning women of Poltimore House.
Bridgee was
passionate about her role as the Artist/Decorator, decorating parties with her
rags was a big part of her life –making mini utopias, beautiful spaces, a woman who bought people together, creating
happenings, and magic all around.
She was a kind, loving, sweet, magical, inspirational,
creative and passionate person, who sprinkled our lives with joy and happiness.
A free spirit, one of a kind, A beautiful
soul, we were blessed to have shared some of our life with Bridgee, our
memories of her will never fade.
You
are all always around us Bridget forever in our hearts.
Thank you for everything you gave us.
Now
Rest in peace my love
