International Womens Day 2011-Events Report

The following events were held this year and were a great success.
International Women's Arts raised £260 for SAFE and ADVA.
 A big thank you to all who came along and to those who put in a huge amount of effort to mark International Women's Day 2011. One hundred years of IWD.
We had a great time connecting with over 300 people to promote the day.

What came up throughout the day was that this year there were many more International Day events happening across the world. In the city Exeter and across Devon this was also apparent, many activists putting on a variey of celebrations across the region.
It was suggested in our IWA talks that we may somehow think about what the future holds and how we may again connect with many agencies and networks to hold an event on a large scale and come together to show a solidarity as activists for International Women's Day ideals next year.
IWAs are considering facilitating a discussion on this later on in this year.

Coffee was kept on tap all night as the negotiations around the Good Friday Agreement came to a close. It is 1998. New Labour are in. They've kicked off their heels and peace in N. Ireland is a priority. In the middle of it all is Mo.
The Peace is supported by Arts Council South West, Peggy Ramsay Foundation and Bristol Ferment.

Return of the groundbreaking documentary play that offers an inspiring glimpse into the lives of women who have overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to achieve justice and freedom. £5 donation ADVA.
